First Morning at Sea

I awakened before any clock sounded its alarm. By 7:30 AM I found a place to fill coffee cups and returned to the stateroom with morning coffee for two. The morning sun was bright and  warm, that's one of the reasons we are here. We were dressed and sitting at breakfast in the main dining room by around 8 AM.

The Grand Cuvée is a very large room so the tables along the starboard side were filled sequentially from the entrance on toward the aft of the ship. For most passengers (arriving in ones, twos, threes, etc.) seating was arranged row by row. Larger groups were seated at round tables more toward the centre of the room. Service was quick, efficient and pleasant. The food was well prepared and rather similar to breakfasts aboard most ships on which we have sailed.

Later in the morning we reported to Michaels Club for a meeting of Cruise Critic members. Fewer than half of those who had "signed up" for the event on the internet prior to sailing actually appeared at the room. One major difference between this meet and greet and those on other cruise lines we have used was the high degree of Celebrity staffers in attendance. At one point I counted at least five and they were not waiters.

We returned to the stateroom or a moment then I set up my onboard internet access and began to write.
