On this first evening we simply explored the entertainment venues. There are a number of piazza areas throughout decks three and four where entertainers work in rotation, There are several lounges, some with band stands and some with DJ booths but none has anything resembling a traditional dance floor. There is a small ceramic floor near the central elevators on deck three where passengers do a little dancing. The floor is small and music only occasionally suitable for latin dancing. We danced three times then moved on. The disco DJ played music with the same beat and tempo. Again we tried our dance repertoire but only briefly.
With our initial investigations complete we opted for the welcome aboard show in the Silhouette Theatre. There were performances by the orchestra, competent but not spectacular, the comedian, great zany sense of humour, an a cappella quartet, great sound and fine performers, and a pair of dancers performing an ariel act on an elevated ring, superb!
Continued investigation discovered now useful dance venues. We visited the buffet for a late evening snack and gradually worked our way to our stateroom and an early retirement.
