Ships Sailed

Since we began cruising, which was around 1985, we have sailed on numerous ships. By the spring of 2014 that number will have reached at least 14. The nature of cruising has changed dramatically since 1985. Some argue that the first cruise took place on the Mediterranean in 1891 when the Augusta Victoria carried 241 passengers for the Hamburg America Line.

Most of our cruises have been with Princess Cruises which began operation in 1965, 74 years later. Cruising was popularized in the late 1970s when the Aaron Spelling television series "The Love Boat" featured the first Pacific Princess. Cruising continues to become even more popular into the 21st century.

Our cruise history began aboard the Carnival Celebration with a visit to the western Caribbean. Since that first experience we have enjoyed over 200 vacation days  at sea. Below is a list of the ships we have experienced and links to Wikipedia pages that provide some specifications and history for each vessel.
