How it Happened

This will be our first cruise with Celebrity. It will be our fourth cruise line, Carnival, Princess and Cunard being the other three. This cruise is mainly about the ship and the cruise line rather than about the ports. We have visited Cozumel and Grand Cayman many times before but Falmouth, Jamaica and Cococay, Bahamas will be new to us. We expect Falmouth to be little different from other Jamaican ports we have visited and we have similar expectations for Cococay. There is, apparently, an interesting venue for snorkelling  at Cococay that we will likely check out. However, it is mainly about the ship, the cruise line and spending time with friends.

We will be sailing with Chris and Marie, a couple we have become friends with as a result of our other common interest, ballroom dance. They will have been aboard the Silhouette for a week before we arrive and are very experienced with Celebrity although this is also their first visit to the Silhouette. Their first week aboard will have been a family reunion week and we will replace their family for the second week.  Since we always enjoy our social time with Chris and Marie I am confident Gail and I will have an enjoyable time aboard Silhouette.

The remainder of this site will contain impressions of the ship and the cruise line. I will also try to offer some comparisons between this experience and our previous experiences with Princess and Cunard. Our experiences with Carnival are too old to be valid for comparison.
